Pondering Point

We will use Pastor Jason Boetcher’s Kingdom Come language from The Lord’s Prayer to review, repent if necessary and return to God as necessary as we respond to God’s call to pray: Here is his prayer expansion of part two:

Praying the Lord's Prayer
Part Three

Let Your kingdom come and invade every part of our lives (Matthew 13:33) that our old nature may be crucified with Christ, that we no longer live but Christ Jesus now lives in us (Galatians 2:20)

  • Take off your old nature: "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander" (Matthew 15:19). “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God" (Gal. 5:19-21).

  • And put on Christ: “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:12-14).

  • Put on the Armor of God using Ephesians 6:10-17: Manifest Your kingdom in such a way that we grow up in our identity as Your dear children and live in the authority that You have given. We receive Your kingdom as a gift with thanksgiving here on earth as in the heavens.

Review

Are you Letting His kingdom come and invade every part of your life? Are you taking off your old nature? Are you putting on Christ? Are you using the Armor of God?

Repent if necessary...

for not crucifying your old nature, for one-time failures and habitual-type struggles. Go through the list for committed (old nature) and omitted sins (Put on Christ). Repent of all that are applicable… and don’t hide here.

Return as necessary

Thank God for His kingdom coming into your life through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Then conclude with the following prayer for the day:

Prayer

Father God, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit -- I pray that Your kingdom continues to come more fully in my life and that it manifests itself by You being Lord of my identity, my decisions, of my resources, and my relationships. In this way Your will can be done on Earth – at least in my life – as You desire in heaven. Amen.
