Discipleship Response

I am HIS believer, acknowledging that the bible is God’s word, not merely man’s opinion about God and that Jesus is Lord, not merely a kind, religious teacher or prophet.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

We also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
~Apostle Paul

Pondering Point

The Apostle Paul highlighted his joy that the Christians in Thessalonica viewed their message as coming from God and now merely a human perspective on God and life. Can you agree with the above bullet point statement? I thank God that His word is at work among us in the church – and that we accept it as HIS word, not merely man’s opinion about Him. Man’s word won’t do much, but God’s word is powerful enough to divide soul and spirit (Hebrews 4:12). Show Him some faith and see.

Review

Do you believe that the Bible is God’s word for man rather than man’s perspective about God? Do you believe Jesus is Lord, not merely a teacher or prophet?

Repent if necessary...

Return as necessary

Thank God for His word and pray that it continues to work on you as a believer, giving you the blessings, the wisdom, the power and the strength to live as a follower of Jesus the Lord, the Savior and the Master.
