Disciples follow Jesus’ call to worship in the Spirit and truth – both coming and going
Deuteronomy 28:6
You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
These words of God through Moses relate to one’s day-to-day activities – the coming and going through life while in relationships with family, business, and community life.
We will be dwelling on relationships this year. The blessing here came contingent upon a commitment to obey the Lord in such arenas of life. This is a great time to do a gut-check about these relationships – and ask God about how you are doing in them.
Following Jesus as We Come 'n Go
Psalm 121:8
The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Pondering Point
Every Monday will include a bible verse concerning about “coming” or “going” as disciples of Jesus. What better way to start the first Monday of 2023 than by asking God to watch over us as HIS disciples while we come and go – now and forevermore. Do that “now” in the following prayer.
Prayer for the Day
Father God, thank You for watching over my coming and going today, tomorrow and throughout 2023 – even into forevermore. Let my coming and going benefit from Jesus’ influence as my Lord. In His name I pray. Amen.
