Thursday's Discipleship Response
Romans 12:5-8
So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it’s serving, then serve; if it’s teaching, then teach; if it’s to encourage, then give encouragement; if it’s giving, then give generously; if it’s to lead, do it diligently; if it’s to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
~ Apostle Paul
• I am part of the body of Christ, rejoicing over others’ concern for me and glad to show concern for others in Jesus’ name.
Pondering Point
Following up on yesterday's body of Christ devotion, let’s take time to celebrate the diversity that makes up the body of Jesus. Our different gifts and different make-up are a product of the one grace by the one God that we all worship. It’s time for our discipleship response to God’s grace.
Review
What gifts has God given you? Don’t settle for your own opinion; ask a few of Christian friends what they see also. Consider taking an online spiritual gift test also such as https://gifts.churchgrowth.org/spiritual-gifts-survey/.
Repent if necessary...
of withholding God’s grace from others by not using your God-given gifts; or of failing to celebrate God’s gracious giftedness in others.
Return as necessary
1. Go to and greet the God of grace
2. Thank God for His gifts of grace
3. PLAN to use your gifts of grace to God’s glory
Prayer
Lord Jesus, help us to celebrate and carry out our various roles in life as we contribute to the God-glorifying work of Your body Jesus, Amen.
